Onboarding
Configure your elba workspace, authorize your identity provider, and complete initial setup.
Before you begin
Onboarding connects your new elba workspace to your organization's identity provider. Start from your elba invitation and use an identity-provider administrator account that can grant the permissions displayed during setup. If you cannot grant those permissions yourself, coordinate with the appropriate administrator before continuing.
The exact authorization step depends on the identity provider associated with your workspace.
1. Configure your workspace
The first onboarding step creates the workspace identity your administrators and employees will see in elba.
- Enter the workspace name.
- Add your organization logo if desired.
- Review the preview.
- Select Next or Complete onboarding, depending on the identity provider shown.
You can update your organization settings again after onboarding.
2. Authorize access to your identity provider
For Google Workspace and Microsoft 365, elba asks for administrator authorization before it can import users.
- Select Authorize access.
- Complete the administrator consent flow in the page that opens.
- Return to elba if the consent page does not redirect you automatically.
- Wait for elba to confirm that access has been authorized.
Authorization may remain pending briefly while the identity provider applies the change and elba checks the granted access. Do not repeat the consent flow while the status is still being checked.
For an Okta workspace, onboarding completes after workspace configuration and does not show this separate authorization step.
3. Complete onboarding
After elba confirms identity-provider access, select Complete onboarding. elba begins importing users and redirects you to communication preferences.
Use communication preferences to choose how your organization receives relevant notifications. You can revisit these settings from the dashboard later.
If authorization does not complete
- Confirm that you used an account with permission to grant the requested administrator consent.
- Return to the original elba onboarding tab after completing a flow that opened separately.
- Wait for the pending authorization check to finish before trying again.
- If the identity provider reports an error, review the requested permissions with your identity administrator.
- If the issue continues, keep the error message and identity-provider details available when contacting support.
