AI scenario builder

Create and edit phishing training scenarios with AI-assisted generation, previews, translations, and supported personalization variables.

Reviewed Jul 12, 2026 · Product

The phishing scenario builder helps administrators prepare an email and landing page for an authorized security-awareness simulation. You can generate a draft from reference material or start with empty fields and write the content yourself.

Use authorized material only

Only use brands, emails, and web pages that your organization is authorized to reproduce for its internal training program. Review generated content before saving or sending it.

Open the scenario builder

In the Elba admin application, open Phishing, then create a custom scenario. The editor opens at /dashboard/phishing/editor/new for your Elba region.

Generate a draft

The generated workflow requires all three inputs shown in the editor:

  1. Scenario description: explain the simulated message, audience, and requested action.
  2. Source email: paste the email content that should guide the draft's wording and visual style.
  3. Login page HTML: paste the complete HTML for the landing page that should guide the draft.

Choose the source language, then select Create Scenario. Elba generates the email and landing-page drafts for that language.

The available source and translation languages are English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Japanese, and Chinese.

Prefer a manual draft when references are unavailable

Select Start from scratch to open the editor without providing the three generation inputs.

Review and edit the scenario

Before saving, review every field in the source-language tab:

  • Scenario name
  • Sending address
  • Email subject
  • Email HTML
  • Landing page HTML

Use the preview panel to check both the email and landing page. All required fields must contain valid values before the scenario can be saved.

If the scenario was generated from a source email, Edit prompt lets you update the description and regenerate the email. This action does not regenerate the landing page.

Add a translation

  1. Select Add translation.
  2. Choose a language that is not already part of the scenario.
  3. Wait for the email and landing page translation to finish.
  4. Review and edit every translated field.

You can remove any translation except the source language.

Use personalization variables

The editor supports these variables in scenario templates:

  • {{.FirstName}} — recipient's first name
  • {{.LastName}} — recipient's last name
  • {{.Email}} — recipient's email address
  • {{.URL}} — unique link to the scenario landing page

Unsupported variables prevent the scenario from being saved. Use the exact capitalization and dotted syntax shown above.

Save the scenario

Select Save scenario, review the confirmation, and save. Elba processes images referenced by the scenario before adding it to your custom scenario library.

Troubleshooting

Create Scenario is disabled

Confirm that the scenario description, source email, and login page HTML all contain non-empty values.

Save scenario is disabled

Wait for generation, translation, or image processing to finish. Then check every language tab for a scenario name, valid sending address, subject, email HTML, and landing page HTML.

A translation needs correction

Edit the translated fields directly before saving. Generated and translated content should always be reviewed by an administrator.
